Pumpkin Head

I always loved these vintage Halloween cards but what's with these creepy pumpkin men that keep appearing and courting these women. The last one especially creeps me out, what the hell is going on here?

The Wild Ride

opossums and beavers

here's two more i've been working on. I probably shouldn't show them in this crappy state, but it gives you an idea of what's to come.

fox

here's one of the latest i've been working on. the underpainting makes her like a witch right now so i thought i'd post it

Train to St.Jacob's

Joe and i took a steam engine train ride to the Farmer's Market and the town of St.Jacob's this Saturday. We saw many Mennonites who are kind of evil and scare me (Amish episode of X-Files), but then i saw one joking with another Mennonite girl while was i waiting for my fish sandwich (from the Mennonites) and she gave her a coffee and said "it's from your boyfriend" in a real teasy girlie manner. I was shocked to see them be so normal, however i'm sure if Papa was around he would not approve and she'd be sleeping in the stables with the sows for punishment.

FRANCINE SPIEGEL

Woah! It's like if Joe and i finally collaborated on a piece, we would make something like this (except probably not as good)
I love her stuff! She currently has a show going on at Deitch Projects in NY called "Mud and Milk" and for the opening she pulled of a performance pretty much bringing her paintings to life. I love that she researched behind the scenes horror movie magic ingredients (like pepto-bismol, shaving cream, pancake syrup, fruit loops, fluff, etc) to create a big wonderfully disgusting mess. You could see more of her fantastic paintings and the performance here

Goya does witches

Goya has produced some of my most favourite witchy imagery. Wether they're hanging with Satan, flying on broomsticks, eating babies, or enjoying other events of the Sabbath, he pulls it off in a way that is both comical yet also terrifying. In my opinion, this is Goya at his best.
